“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture of their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits"

Martin Luther King Jr.

I believe that all students have the capacity and innate desire to learn. Furthermore, their desire and passion should be positively fostered by educators who are willing to teach students to think critically and apply culturally relevant aspects to their learning. Essentially, it is critical for educators to do more than simply teach students core subjects or subject matter in general but it is important for educators to assess students holistically. A good educator will expose students to information that is both known to them and expose them to various aspects of learning and life that they are not aware of. Assisting students in furthering their skills as not only scholars but also good citizens is apart of being an effective teacher. Extending self beyond the classroom and into the community and developing effective relationships with students home life are all also critical components to being an effective educator. Initiating, creating, establishing, and fostering an environment that promote inclusion, diversity, and multiculturalism are all aspects that will establish a positive learning environment.
